We are pleased to invite all children in Essex & Suffolk – either individuals, schools or other youth groups such as Cubs and Brownies – to enter a tub display at our major charity garden show in July.

The theme for the edible container display is ‘Grub in a Tub’ and the finished container can be anything in which the plants can grow successfully (i.e. have free drainage).
The filled container must be freestanding and reasonably portable so that it can be moved to the garden site without the use of machinery (such as a fork-lift). Therefore a stone trough might not be appropriate!

Innovative, home-made or recycled containers will be looked upon favourably.

Maximum height and width of container: 80cm x 80cm.

The plants might include salad leaves, vegetables, fruit, edible flowers or herbs. As the show is early in the season you can include beans or tomatoes, etc, even if they are not at maximum fruiting point.

There will be prizes and certificates for all entrants in recognition of their efforts. Entries must be made by 1st July at the latest on the attached form to guarantee acceptance at the show. All tubs must be delivered/displayed at the show by midday on Friday 15th July, when judging will commence.

There is no charge for entries and all children U15 get free admission to the weekend, but we would ask that if you are unable, at the last minute, to deliver your tub you call the organiser to advise of non-attendance as your name will be displayed.
